Hero Datafile: Franklin Richards

Franklin Richards is the son of Reed and Sue Richards of the Fantastic Four, but he is far more than a child of heroes. An omega-level reality shaper, Franklin has created universes and wielded power on a scale that makes cosmic beings take notice. Yet his greatest struggle has never been whether he is powerful enough, it’s whether he can trust himself to use that power without breaking the world around him. At his best, Franklin is wonder and terror in the same breath: a brilliant, frightened, loving kid who could remake reality, but often chooses to hold the door shut himself.

Power Sets

OMEGA-LEVEL REALITY SHAPER

Cosmic Awareness d10, Matter Control d12, Psychic Resistance d12, Reality Control d12, Space-Time Control d12, Teleport d10, Transmutation d12

SFX: And Then It Was True. When creating an asset, stepping up an asset, or removing a complication with Omega-Level Reality Shaper, add a d6 and step up your effect die.

SFX: Pocket Universe. Spend 1 PP to create a Pocket Reality d12 asset. While it remains in play, Franklin may use it to justify impossible positioning, impossible shelter, altered physics, or the appearance of people, places, or objects that should not exist.

SFX: Rewrite the Scene. Spend 1 PP to replace one Scene Distinction with a new Scene Distinction reflecting Franklin’s reality-altering power. The Watcher may require Franklin to take emotional stress or a complication tied to the change.

SFX: No, That Didn’t Happen. When Franklin uses Reality Control or Space-Time Control to defend against an attack, spend 1 PP to turn the attacker’s effect die into a complication on them instead.

SFX: Impossible Solution. Before making an action using Omega-Level Reality Shaper, step up or double one power. Remove the highest rolling die and use three dice for your total.

SFX: Universal Scale. Against mobs, cosmic threats, artificial intelligences, extradimensional entities, or mass-scale dangers, add a d6 and keep an additional effect die.

SFX: Power Without Permission. When Franklin’s fear, anger, grief, or desperation drives the action, step up Reality Control or Matter Control for one roll. After the roll, take a Power Surging Out of Control d8 complication or step up an existing emotional stress.

Limit: The Boy Who Holds Back. Franklin may shut down Omega-Level Reality Shaper at any time and gain 1 PP. While shut down, he cannot use any power or SFX from this power set. Recover by activating an opportunity, receiving meaningful emotional support, or choosing to risk hurting someone by using his power again.

Limit: Too Big for the World. When Franklin uses a d12 power from this set, the Watcher may spend 1 doom die to create or step up a complication representing collateral reality distortion, paradox, cosmic attention, temporal backlash, or emotional strain.

Limit: Still a Kid. When Franklin is frightened, isolated, manipulated, or emotionally overwhelmed, change any Omega-Level Reality Shaper power into a complication and gain 1 PP. Recover when someone earns his trust, helps him feel safe, or he chooses to believe in himself.

Milestones

I CAN END THIS WITH A THOUGHT

1 XP when you use your reality-warping power to solve a problem in a way no one else at the table could have solved.

3 XP when another hero, villain, or cosmic being reacts with fear, awe, or alarm at what Franklin is capable of.

10 XP when you either unleash your full power and permanently change the course of the Event, or refuse to use your power even though it would have solved everything instantly.

I SHUT THE DOOR MYSELF

1 XP when you choose to shut down Omega-Level Reality Shaper or decline to use a d12 power because Franklin is afraid of what might happen.

3 XP when your self-imposed limits create a serious complication for the team, or when another character challenges you about whether restraint is wisdom or fear.

10 XP when you either accept that your power is part of you and use it without shame, or deliberately lock it away to protect the people you love.
