Hero Datafile: Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan
Howdy, True Believers!
It’s Woman Crush Wednesday and it only seems appropriate to post Marvel’s newest and hottest female heroine, Ms. Kamala Khan, or the amazing Ms. Marvel!
To be completely honest, I’m not presently reading Ms. Marvel, but my wife is and she is absolutely loving the series. So, I figured that instead of telling you about her character from the outside looking in, I’d allow my wife to tell you a little something about the new Ms. Marvel.
I should start by saying I am no comic guru but I am really loving Ms. Marvel! I like seeing her figure out how to juggle new powers, teenage drama, and her family rules. It is neat to see her work through her problems and come up with new ways to use her powers for each situation. I like that she is kind of your average Jane just trying to do her part to save her city. I also like the cultural aspect as I do not know a whole lot about Middle Eastern culture it is interesting to get a little bit of background of the struggle that she goes through with her parents trying to keep her traditional while she is trying to make a name/life for herself. I am look forward to see how she continues to evolve!

The datafile seems small though, do you have a larger version available ?
Sure thing. I don’t know why by both Ms Marvel and Nova’s datafiles weren’t as big as they should have been. Fixed now though!
I think Kamala should have Enhanced Reflexes and maybe Combat Expert. She specifically mentions early on that she learned how to fight and how to react quickly by playing videogames and that her shapeshifting powers overcame the one thing between her and combat proficience – physical prowess.
I had someone doing the Character Generator and at one point he’s like “So I just rolled Ms. Marvel.” I just happen across this datafile and was going to link it to him but it seems he’s already been here (Same Distinctions and Milestones.) Great Character though. Keep up the work! MHR isn’t dead and you guys are proof of that!
