So, it’s been a few days. All of the fans of Marvel Heroic are licking their wounds. We’re all upset, but this doesn’t mean that we’re done with the Marvel Heroic Roleplaying Game. Not by a long shot. This game will continue to live on as long as we continue to enjoy and play it.
Here at Plot Points, we’ve got a few things in the works: One, we’re going to continue to play the game over Google+ Hangouts. Pay attention to our Twitter feeds as we discuss when we’ll be playing. Feel free to ask if you can hop in.
We’re also going to be starting up a YouTube show called Plot Points TV, where we’ll be having Plot Points writers and other guests discussing Marvel games such as Marvel Heroic, Legendary, Heroclix and more, and also discussing comic books and explaining Marvel history and various events in a way you can understand and get up to date on.
We want to do more events, but need your help! We could always use more writers to help lighten the load and also increase the number of posts we’re putting out. Contact me or Andrew (our email addresses are on the About Us page). We look forward to hearing from you!
The show must go on!
I agree, we have to keep this alive! I am just starting a hangouts game myself. When is yours running? I would love to see it in action! I recommend using DiceStream for Hangouts. this way there is no need to use any other software.
Also, I would like to add, that I am building up courage to approach you guys to help out with the site!
I’ve talked to Andrew about a spot in his game, but I’d also love to join your game, Mark (given the opportunity, of course).
I’d certainly like to see more events.
Is there any plans to do more intensive articles about how to build events from the ground up? Also in the case of tutorials, I would love to see a “how-to” on building milestones.
I’ve got plans for some how-tos on designing datafiles and milestones. Or at least, how I design them.
I run a game every other Sunday at my local comic book store. Have been since we first discovered this wonderful RPG. I have the digital editions of all of the products, lucky enough to get a few when they were on sale, and a hardcopy (so to speak) of the softcover basic game. We are switching to every Sunday for a few months (we normally alternate with a D&D 4.0 game, but the current DM is having scheduling issues and the new DM isn’t ready and won’t be until after Summer). I have 4 regular players, with 2-3 other “guest star” characters. We have built our own official characters plenty of times, and they like occasionally playing official Marvel characters (usually villains, go figure!) I am so very sorry to see it go, but we need to keep this alive… we still don’t have official stats for Jean Grey or Dark Phoenix!!!!
I first picked up a group for MHRP shortly after The Avengers came out. It wasn’t a mainstay game for our group by any means, but it is a fun distraction from time to time and has greatly impacted the way we play our other games (namely, The Dresden Files).
After hearing of the game coming to an end of official publications, my players have requested that I run a few games (or even an entire campaign) using the system.
I’m glad to see that Plot Points won’t be going anywhere; if anything, I’m looking forward to seeing what you all cook up next!
Since MWP isn’t continuing the license that opens up a lot of things for the rest of us to do now that we know it won’t be done officially.
One of the things i was working on when i was last doing MH stuff was a Generation Hope thing, i think. It was the X-Men storyline where Hope and the X-men discover the five new mutants. Wasn’t going to do it officially but i may have to pick up the books and try to make it official. So if anyone has a recommended reading for it, i was just using the marvel comics database for the information i needed, so now i will need to read the actual books.
