Pet Avengers: Mind Gem Item Power Set

I must apologize up front: This is an idea that came to me late in the game. We introduced this event by saying that the heroes got together through the use of the Mind Gem and left it there. It occurred to me that it doesn’t make any sense to have one of the most powerful items in the universe and not use it to its fullest potential. It necessitated the creation of the Mind Gem Item Power Set.  Eventually, we plan on giving you the whole Infinity Gauntlet, but for now, enjoy the Mind Gem.

Check out the Mind Gem and the other Infinity Gems at the Marvel Universe Wiki.

  1. The whole Infinity Guantlet…and this is a single Gem. The mind boggles.

Were you expecting to see the whole Gauntlet here, or are you marveling at how powerful the Gauntlet may be in the end? Just curious. 🙂

Well, keep in mind, the Infinity Gems/Gauntlet are supposed to be among the most powerful items in the known universe. Each gem is given dominion over its own portion of reality. Using that logic, the Mind Gem should be able to connect to every mind in the existence, and that’s the *least* of its abilities.

When we do the Gauntlet, we’re going to create a separate set for that item so that the idea will be not to use them all individually, but as one item. The design here also assumes that the character wielding the Mind Gem (and, going forward, the others) can handle the immense power it contains, hence the Specialty requirements. For anyone that happens to have the Civil War book, it’s a play on Mjolnir (“If he be worthy,” and all).

  3. “Use them all as one item” sounds sensible. I don’t wanna think how big the Gauntlet’s Datafile would get otherwise…

We’re not exactly sure when we’ll get around to the other Gems. My thinking is we’ll see what happens when we have a better sense of the cosmic goings-on.
