The Ebony Blade is one of Marvel’s great cursed weapons, most closely tied to Dane Whitman, the Black Knight. Forged by Merlin from a meteorite, the sword can cut through nearly anything, deflect energy, and survive blows that would shatter ordinary weapons. Its curse is the real problem. The more blood it spills, the more it feeds the wielder’s rage, violence, and hunger for battle.

SFX: Cut Through Anything. When attacking an object, barrier, armor, shield, or target with enhanced durability, step up or double Weapon. On success of more than 10, create or step up a complication such as Shattered Armor, Severed Weapon, Broken Wards, or No Defense Against the Blade.
SFX: Turn the Blow Aside. On a successful reaction against an energy, magical, or weapon-based attack, convert your opponent’s effect die into an Opening in Their Guard asset. You may use that asset on your next action against the attacker.
SFX: The Blade Drinks Deep. When you inflict physical stress with the Ebony Blade, spend 1 PP to step up the stress or create a Blood Curse complication equal to your effect die. If the target is already physically stressed, you may reroll your dice pool before applying the result.
Limit: The Blood Curse. Gain 1 PP when the Watcher creates or steps up an emotional complication tied to rage, bloodlust, obsession, guilt, or the Blade urging you toward a killing blow.
Bear the Blade, 5 XP: Gain access to The Ebony Blade for one action scene. At the end of the scene, the Watcher may give you d8 emotional stress tied to the Blade’s influence.
Claim the Black Knight’s Burden, 10 XP: Add The Ebony Blade as a temporary Item Power Set for the rest of the event. Each time you use The Blade Drinks Deep, the Watcher may add a d6 to the doom pool.
Master the Curse, 15 XP: Once per session, ignore an emotional complication created by The Blood Curse for a single roll.
