Holiday shopping has brought out the beast in us, so it’s time for Monster Week on Marvel Plot Points!
Kicking things off — both for the week and as my first datafile here — is a personal favorite, Morbius the Living Vampire. He’s fought everything from one-eyed aliens to satanic cults to Spider-Man, but all he really wants is to be left alone – with a handy supply of blood, of course. More recently, he’s been in positions of leadership, both as a sort of mayor in the subterranean Monsteropolis and as a squad leader for the zombie-fighting extradimensional force, A.R.M.O.R. Through it all, he continues to rock the ‘70s glam look.
The recent series by Joe Keatinge and Rich Elson did a great job of delineating Morbius’ powers and limits, so those are reflected here, along with milestones pulled from his solo appearances and the Legion of Monsters miniseries. And for those occasions when Morbius is the “bad guy,” I’ve also created a Watcher file. Drink it up!
Has anyone noticed that the watcher version has an error on his affiliation dice?
Fixed it!
Thanks, Mark! Yeah, it’s better to avoid confusion.
Thanks! Yes, I made an error – but it’s one that I decided I liked. If you’re going to use Morbius as a villain, chances are he’s hungry. And if he’s hungry, ANY ally is potentially on the menu. 😉 So I decided to leave it as an interesting point of discussion!
