Okay. This looks bad.
Someone has stolen a tape. (Yes, S.H.I.E.L.D. still uses VHS tapes, apparently.) And this isn’t just any run-of-the-mill outdated recording medium. It shows something that could bring down the Avengers, S.H.I.E.L.D., and maybe even the U.S. government. And now the President wants someone to get it back. Obviously.
Click on the picture to download the PDF.This short, two-act Event is based on Matt Fraction and Javier Pulido’s Hawkeye #4-5, and is designed to be played over the course of one or two Marvel Heroic Roleplaying game sessions. Included in the Event are several Event Milestones, some Unlockables, and brand new Watcher Datafiles for villains like Madame Masque and the Crimson Cowl. It also includes ideas for how to adapt the Event for other heroes, in case no one feels like being Hawkguy.

Hey guys! This is my first official post here on Plot Points, though at least one of my datafiles (Hit Monkey) has been posted before. Unlike a lot of you guys, I’ve not been a comic fan my whole life, but actually just started getting into Marvel comics right before MHRP came out. But despite that, I’ve done a LOT of reading to catch up! Matt Fraction’s current ongoing Hawkeye is probably my hands-down favorite, though I have to say Kieron Gillen’s Young Avengers is right up there too. I hope you guys enjoy this little Event, and the other things I have coming down the pipeline in the next few weeks and months! (Of course, my day job is teaching for and helping run a study abroad program in Italy, so my schedule might delay some of that!)
I really appreciate the hard work you guys do to keep the system alive. I only find the system and fell in love with it after it was cancelled. I have seen other fan dedicated sites, but yours is the only one that has had any updates that keep coming. I keep coming back to the site for more so keep them coming and keep up the good work. I am also just about to run this event so it looks awesome.
Master_GM, thanks for the comments! Glad you like what you’ve found, and I hope we can keep producing stuff that you’ll enjoy! (If you’re a Hawkeye fan, keep an eye open for more Milestones, Events, and lots of Datafiles… including Pizza Dog!) I definitely have a lot of things I would like to do for MHRP, so I don’t think we’ll be ending our updates anytime soon!
Let me know how the Event runs or if you find any mistakes! I have been trying to run it for a long time to playtest it all, but living in Italy over half the year kinda screws up my gaming habit!
Overall it went over really well. It was a really interesting scenario in that the heroes never donned heir costume the whole game. (We had Spider-Man and Captain America) In the end we had a lot of fun playing and look forward to seeing more material in the future.
I will be looking to produce some of my own material for MHRP as well. We will see how it goes. We are just about to finish up using the Marvel Civil War and will be looking to move on to new and different material for the system.
We took a break from my Marvel campaign and played first edition Exalted, for what seemed like an eternity. It was both clunky and slow. I was jonesing to play Marvel again and used a break in the campaign to return to my Marvel world. I ran the “Tape” and modified it a little to fit the characters. We had 5 fights that night and everyone had a good time. Thanks for reminding me and my players why MHR is so fun. Thanks for posting this adventure
Thank you for keeping MHRP alive with your group! I’m glad you guys had a good time! Like I said months ago in the comments above, I’ve got a lot of stuff left I want to do for MHRP and Hawkeye, but I have to fit it in with the whole living in Europe half the year working full time. (The series being off and on hiatus and having production issues doesn’t help either.) Once the current arc ends, I’m planning on doing another Event like this that continues with several more issues, or I might just combine it all into one big Hawkeye event book thing with datafiles, etc., if I can get some time.
