Here’s something new we’re trying. I have a dream to create art for comics/games. We were kicking around some ideas and I threw out the idea that I’d like to see more characters done in a similar style to what characters wore in Secret War (our current event, see where this is going?). The first name I heard was She-Hulk, always a favorite. I took the bait.
As I thought this out and looked for source material, I found that Ms. Walters is a very polarizing character. She often comes under fire for being one of two things. She’s either criticized for being too sexy or, on the other end, too muscular. I realize a lot of this is subjective, which makes it really tough to find the strong yet attractive look that we all expect the She-Hulk to embody.
The pitfalls? Too muscular, and she comes off like a female bodybuilder, which, while female bodybuilders have their own style that works for them, doesn’t really work for She-Hulk. Too sexy, and she’s not believable as a superhumanly strong heroine, and I for one look for a little more in my heroes than just a pinup girl, although there’s nothing wrong with acknowledging that. I settled on something muscly, but with enough va-va-voom to keep with her bombshell personality.
The costume uses the same dark tones as was seen in Secret War with a nod to the more commonly known white and purple She-Hulk one piece.
I hope you all enjoy it. I know I had fun drawing and painting this one. Next, I plan on tackling Hawkeye. Let me know what you all think.
We should have this art and hawkeye (and maybe moon knight) on our new pdf.
Oh, you’re gonna get me in trouble… I already have someone asking me to do Red She-Hulk. 😛
Well done
Could you do hawkeye sans swashey pirate boots
The idea is to do him as sort of a blend between his iconic look and the Ronin character
