Change to Our AvX Plans

Sorry to build everyone’s hopes up, then let them down.

We’ll be holding off on the Avengers vs. X-Men series. After a lot of discussion between myself and my contributors, we decided that we would postpone any AvX posts until the full story is released, in order to allow for a more fleshed out project. In our next post, we’ll be announcing the Event we’re planning on doing next in its place.

Just curious as I havent read a marvel comic in about a decade…did Marvel do a reboot like DC did? I cant find any of my original comics around anymore ie. Avengers, Captain America, etc..
They all have weird issue numbering and sub names.

Good work on thesite and I cant wait to get my copy of the RPG when our stores here have it!

Marvel has not done a reboot. The Avengers, Cap, X-Men all have their regular books. I’m not sure about the weird subheadings you are talking about. That may be the major crossover event title?

Do you have a specific example?

    A bit disappointed.

I just got done talking with a buddy and we were thinking…

One of the big problems with any licensed RPG where the IP is not only active but constantly changing, such as Marvel Comics, is that it’s almost impossible for the publisher of the game to keep up with the changes.

Here, now, the internet has given us the possibility to change that. A book can come out Wednesday and by Friday we can see stats on the new characters and updates to old ones. That’s an amazing asset (Ah-ah, like what I did there?).

Anything you guys do is appreciated and will likely be awesome when its not super-awesome but the idea of ‘real time’ Marvel updates was pretty damn exciting.

I remember when i used to play the TSR Marvel game and my friends and I would make up stats for the comic versions that we where reading until we saw them published in Dragon Magazine in an article called ‘ The Marvel Phile”. Those updates where never very often and we had to wait for each new module or expansion to get the latest stats which of course would be outdated by the time we got it lol

Just picked the Avengers and Xmen issue 0 up where they basically talk about the upcoming series. I am curious about the whole Phoenix thing and since I have been out of the loop for so long im a little confused ( like where in the hell is Jean Grey?!?!?!!?) and who the heck is this ” Hope” chick..and most of all….why in heck is Psylocke still wearing that purple ninja with sash outfit she wore in the early/late 90’s?!!?!?!?!?!?!?

I love the new X genesis series though..glad to be back playing in the marvel sandbox…now I just need a crew to play with and a copy of the game!

    to answer your questions evounlimited:

    1) jean grey..dead at this time.

    2) hope summers..the so called “mutant messiah…raised in the future by cable.

    3) psylocke gets a costume change (confirmed over at CBR) during AvX…

    hope that helps.
