Watcher Datafile: Molecule Man

Owen Reece was an insecure laboratory worker who became the Molecule Man after an accident gave him power over the building blocks of reality itself. With control over molecules, energy, and matter, he can reshape the world around him almost casually, making him one of Marvel’s most dangerous cosmic-level beings. Despite that terrifying power, Owen is often defined less by ambition than by fear, loneliness, and a desperate desire to be left alone.

SFX: Anything Is Possible:Add a doom die to step up or double any Molecular Mastery power for one action. If the action succeeds, step up the effect die.

SFX: Rewrite the Battlefield: When creating environmental assets or complications through molecular manipulation, add a d6 and step up the effect die.

SFX: Unmake: Against objects, structures, vehicles, weapons, armor, or artificial beings, step up or double Cosmic Matter Control. On a successful action, remove the target asset or inflict a complication such as Disintegrating d12 or Turned to Glass d12.

SFX: Human Atom Bomb: Add a d10 from the doom pool to make an area attack against every target in the scene. For each additional target, add a d6 and keep an additional effect die.

SFX: No, It’s Something Else Now: When Molecule Man is attacked by a physical object, weapon, or energy effect, spend a doom die to turn the incoming attack into an asset for himself instead of taking stress.

SFX: Rewrite the Body: When inflicting physical stress through molecular alteration, step up the effect die. On a successful attack against a target already suffering physical stress, spend a doom die to create a lasting complication instead of dealing more stress.

SFX: Cosmic Anchor: When resisting teleportation, banishment, reality alteration, time displacement, or dimensional effects, add a doom die to the reaction pool.

SFX: I Can See the Pieces: When using Superhuman Senses to analyze matter, energy, molecular structures, hidden devices, or transformed beings, step up the effect die.

Limit: The Man Inside the Power: Step up the lowest die in the doom pool or add a d6 to the doom pool when Molecule Man’s fear, insecurity, guilt, loneliness, or need for control causes him to hesitate, overreact, or spiral emotionally.

Limit: Concentration: Shut down a Molecular Mastery power when Molecule Man is emotionally overwhelmed, distracted, or forced to maintain too many molecular effects at once. Recover the power by activating an opportunity or during a Transition Scene.
