Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots, and one of the most powerful Transformers in existence. Optimus was merely a civilian on Cybertron before he was chosen by the Matrix to command. He is a powerful and charismatic leader who fights endlessly for the good of all life.
A little overpowered in my opinion. Too many d10s. Looks like Silver Surfer 😛
Well he is the leader of the Autobots and one of the most powerful Transformers. I think the d10s are justified.
Pingback: Hero Datafiles: Prowl and Jazz | Marvel Plot Points
I love this blog… because it lets me think about all the best possible marvel heroic mashups! (Darth Vader vs. Optimus Prime.. yes please. :D)
One of the cool things about Marvel is that there are so many ways to model a fictional thing mechanically.
I was a little trepidatious about the Vehicle Form SFX in this datafile. While not specifically stated, the idea that “Vehicle Form” requires a check, and you can fail at that check left me with the impression that Optimus can’t turn into a bad ass truck whenever he wants. It also struck me as weird to use the doom pool as opposition. I’ve never felt like transforming would be important enough to break out the dice for. In the fiction it isn’t usually something that transformers struggle with.. it’s just something they do.
My first impression was that something like a souped up Construct SFX would be the way to go.
“SFX: Big Rig. Add a d6 and step up your effect die when using Cybertronian Life-Form to create vehicle form related assets. Step up Vehicle Master resources created by activating a watcher opportunity.”
Then I re-read what you wrote and thought, maybe this SFX is more about going fast than it is about transforming into a big truck, and came up with this.
“Roll Out! Whenever you succeed in a roll using a Cybertronian Life-Form power while in vehicle form step up Enhanced Speed for the remainder of the scene.”
I would love to hear more of your thoughts and process for creating this and other datafiles. 😀
